If you proceed to purchase a memorial your financial details are processed immediately and are never retained.

For the purpose of ensuring our website is working well and attracting the right audience we do monitor very basic interactions such as if the page was accessed from a desktop computer or a mobile/tablet - these statistics are simply noting the type of device and the city in which you live - it is not specific enough to identify you as an individual or to pinpoint an exact location.

You will only receive marketing material (a memorial brochure or a memorial quotation) if you have asked for this information to be sent. Alpha Memorials Ltd will not contact you to follow up on material sent, we prefer for you to contact us when you are ready. No details are passed on to any third parties for marketing purposes.

  • Clergy and local authorities dealing with the authorisation to install a memorial.

  • Bridge Insurance Services - this is only for customers requiring a memorial insurance policy.

  • Organisations dealing with debt recovery if your invoice is unpaid.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

We do not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

KEEPING YOUR INFORMATION SECURE

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. For example, when you enquire about our products and services our web pages are secure which means that your information can’t be read by anyone who doesn’t need to see it. Card payments are processed immediately without any of the card details being retained. We limit access to your personal data to those colleagues, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

DATA RETENTION

We will keep your data "active" whilst we are completing your memorial order - once complete the data is securely archived.

​

Due to the nature of our business it is beneficial for us to retain the data as many of our memorials require follow up work in the future such as the addition of another name following a future death. The vast majority of local authorities will test memorials for stability at five year intervals if these tests raise any issues we would need to advise you of their findings and the work undertaken to rectify the problem.

Request access to your personal information  this allows you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

 

Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
